Blow the trumpet!

By Angela Wittman

"...Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman: If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people; Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head. He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul." - Ezekiel 33:2-5 KJV

Let us sound the trumpet loud and clear... Danger that should strike holy fear into the very heart of God's people is at the door. I am referring to the wickedness of those in high places who push, shove and force their agenda upon the backs of hard working taxpayers in America. They think their thick boot heels can crush the Spirit of God's people, and for good measure they want to make law that which can never be right or normal on God's earth.

The sodomite agenda is marching steadily on in Illinois with the recent civil unions legislation passed by the Illinois General Assembly. As a wife, mother, grandmother, citizen, taxpayer and homeowner in Illinois, I have an interest and voice in the laws of this state that I refuse to let be denied me.

Now is the time to speak and stand for righteousness, and may God give all of His people the boldness and grace to do this. We can go back to making our homes and churches comfortable when this present danger has been averted and driven back into the closet. Your children and grand children's future is depending upon you.

Now is the time to sound the alarm and tell others what God says about wickedness and how sodomy defiles the land.

Now is the time to declare with all your being that Christ rules this nation and His Law is good, holy and right. It is not to be ashamed of, nor should we become discouraged at those who say God's Law is not to be the standard and rule for life. Let us be the ones to seek His face through prayer, repentance, and a renewed commitment to press the crown rights of King Jesus in all areas of life.

How can Christian ladies help sound the alarm and promote righteousness?

First of all, don't neglect your family. Train up your children in the ways of the Lord. Withdraw them from the government schools and teach them what God's Word says.

Secondly, encourage and help those men who will confront evil with the Word of God.

Thirdly, talk to your neighbors and friends about God's Word and show them what is right and true as found in Scripture.

Fourthly, pick up your pen (or keyboard) and begin writing letters to the editor and editorials. If the news organizations won't publish them, become a self-publisher by starting a blog and creating your own e-list.

And lastly, but not least - PRAY as though your life and the lives of your children depend upon it... Because they really do.

May God grant each reader of this editorial a renewed sense of purpose and urgency to promote His kingdom above all others. May you Seek Him as your only shelter in the storm sure to follow. But above all, don't stop blowing the trumpet until all is clear on the horizon. Amen.

  1. I have been thinking recently of the examples God relates in the Bible. Elijah railed against the sin of the day. It was sin against the 1st Commandment and he killed the unfaithful priests that ate at King Ahab's table and led the worship of Baal. 1 Kings 18
When King Jehoshaphat aided the evil King, God sent prophet Jehu to tell him that it was a premeditated sin. 2 Chron 19:1
John the Baptist to rail against King Herod for being in a sexual relationship with another man's other half. Luke 3
I think Jehovah gave believers these examples for us to follow, even unto death as John did. Rev 2:10

  3. Since December I've included Nathan, who went directly to the top politician, and Jonah, who went to the people so publicly the king heard and led in repentance. This proves to me only convinced and convicted sinners need the Gospel preached to them. Jesus said to the prostitute "Go and sin no more". He didn't include 'believe on the LORD and be saved'. Sometimes what is not said is educational.

A Judge and the Ten Commandments

We now face a new moral crisis, a new crisis of conscience, for voters in the United States, specifically, this time voters in the state of Alabama. That's because on December 12 the voters of that state will elect a new United States Senator in a special election made necessary in order to fill the seat that had been vacated by the current Attorney General of the United States Jeff Sessions. - Dr. Albert Mohler - President of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary ( Daily Briefing 11.13.17)

Dear Friends,
There has been much discussion on the Roy Moore US Senate race and recent allegations of sexual impropriety and child sexual abuse made by women who claim to have been teenagers when these events took place. Those of you who follow my blogs know that I once was a supporter of Judge Moore and theonomy in general.
However, I had a change of heart regarding theonomy several years ago (2013), and now I am no longer a supporter of Judge Moore.  I believe there are credible reports th…

Aiming for Godly Growth in 2018

Dear Friends,

There is much busyness in the life of today's women, but if you are a Christian, you will have a desire to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord. Here are some recently written articles by other authors I think you'll find valuable. I pray you'll make time to read and reflect upon the godly advice and wisdom shared in each one.

The first article is On Being a Christian Woman in the Year of Our Lord, 2018written by Abigail Dodds and posted at her blog Hope and Stay.

Abigail writes about the hunger of Christian women for sound teaching in today's churches, which is right and good, but also warns of some pitfalls and how to avoid them.

Here are some valuable excerpts from her article:
Here’s my summary: Biblically-conservative Christian women are eager to have visible, biblically-conservative leadership by women in their churches and eager to learn from gifted, female Bible teachers whether locally or nationally. Secondly, women with the gift of teach…

What on earth was Roy Moore thinking?

Dear Friends,

Yesterday I saw this tweet repeating a comment reported by the LA Times that Roy Moore made at a campaign rally last September when one of his supporters asked him when he thought the last time America was "great:"
"I think it was great at the time when families were united—even though we had slavery—they cared for one another…Our families were strong, our country had a direction." (Taken from Roy Moore: Last Time America was 'Great" was During 'Slavery'; Newsweek, 12.7.2017) I realize this is being presented out of context and sensationalized, but really, folks, what on earth was Roy Moore thinking when he said it?  Regardless of how foolish making such a comment is during a public campaign event for a national office, it's just plain wrong.

My father's family is from the south - we can trace our ancestry back to the War for Independence with our family patriarch Capt. John Somers possibly serving under George Washington at …
