A Sense of Urgency

By Angela Wittman "Mr. President, it is natural to man to indulge in the illusions of hope. We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth, and listen to the song of that siren till she transforms us into beasts. Is this the part of wise men, engaged in a great and arduous struggle for liberty? Are we disposed to be of the number of those who, having eyes, see not, and, having ears, hear not, the things which so nearly concern their temporal salvation? For my part, whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to know the whole truth; to know the worst, and to provide for it." Patrick Henry, March 23, 1775. Dear Friends, As I reflect upon the words of Founding Father Patrick Henry, I cannot help but be compelled with a sense of urgency to lay all aside to warn the citizens of this nation that time is short and we must take action to save our Republic. The recent following example of free speech being denied will alert you that our First Amendment Right is under at

Have We Forgotten The Name of the LORD Our God?

By Angela Wittman And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. (Deuteronomy 6:5 - KJV) Dear Friends, When I heard that Imam Izak-El M. Pasha, the Muslim chaplain of the New York City Police Department, delivered the National Republican Convention invocation I was very dismayed at the lack of righteous indignation, little complaint or outcry from the Christian community. In fact, I have been listening for an outcry against President Bush hosting the annual Iftaar Dinner in the Whitehouse for almost four years now and the silence from the majority of evangelical Christians is deafening. Praise the LORD! I am hearing condemnation for the Islamic terrorists who tortured, maimed and killed the precious children in Russia. But what I am not hearing is an overwhelming outcry against those who are torturing, maiming and killing unwanted children in the womb (and sometimes, just barely out of the womb.) If we were truly outraged o

For these little ones

by Angela Wittman "And whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, assuredly, I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward." (Matthew 10:42) Dear Friends for LIFE and Freedom, As I look around at the callous and cold hearts of those committing carnage of humanity called reproductive freedom or choice, I am reminded of the missionary Amy Carmichael and the tract she wrote called "The Cry of the Blood:" The tom-toms thumped on all night, and the darkness shuddered round me like a living, feeling thing. I could not go to sleep, so I lay awake and looked; and it seemed like this: That I stood on a grassy sward, and at my feet a precipice broke sheer down into infinite space. I looked, but saw no bottom; only coiled shapes, black and furiously coiled, and great shadow-shrouded hollows, and unfathomable depths. Back I drew, dizzy at the depth. Then I saw forms of people moving single file along the grass. They were mak

'Letter to the Editor' on behalf of Michael Marcavage (2004)

Dear Editor, A young man in Pennsylvania is boldly preaching the Gospel in his community. His name is Michael Marcavage and he is experiencing persecution for reading the Word of God at a borough council meeting in Lansdowne, Pennsylvania. The city "fathers" tried to prohibit Michael from reading the Bible at their July 21, 2004, meeting during the public comment period in which he was disrespectfully and roughly removed from the meeting because they do not want to hear what God has to say about homosexuality. ( I have to wonder if stoning Christians will be next on their agenda.) They not only think they can thumb their noses at God, but they also believe they are above the law and can violate one's God given and Constitutionally secured right to free speech. Here are some excerpts from an article that was published in the Philadelphia Gay News on July 29, 2004: "Marcavage says he attended the July 21 borough-council meeting to speak during the public-comment perio

'Let your light shine before men'

By Angela Wittman "But he [Stephen], being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up steadfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God. Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord, And cast him out of the city, and stoned him..." (Acts 7:55-58, KJV) Dear Friends, Do you long to be a Christian like the early disciples? Is it in your heart to give your all for God and you don't know quite where to start? Perhaps you have a desire to serve and you need a little direction? Then let me point you to the One who has created good works for you to walk into. The One I am referring to is despised by the world and He was crucified. He has warned us that we will be hated as He is hated. So, dear friends, let us soberly and prayerfully count the cost to follow Jesus Christ. A young man in Pennsylvania

'Ponder the path of your feet...let all your ways be established'

By Angela Wittman "In the November 2004 elections, my plea with Christians is to vote for righteousness, ... The Bible says that righteousness exalteth a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people [Proverbs 14:34]. If Christians vote for Republicans or Democrats, they are wasting their votes." -- (Steve Lefemine, Director of Columbia Christians for Life ) Dear Friends, I am convinced that to achieve victory in the war against murder of children by abortion, we need to stop being afraid to offend and begin speaking the truth in love. This is how we will transform our culture to once more being predominately Christian instead of the multi-cultural, pluralistic and intolerant society the God-haters are constructing. Some will tell you that we must end the murder of the unborn babies incrementally...I disagree. I think we need to draw a line in the sand and say we will not support or vote for those candidates who have compromised on the issue of life for babies -- regardless

Protecting Marriage

By Angela Wittman 18 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. 21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; 22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. 23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. 24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. (Genesis 2: 18, 21-24 KJV) Dear Friends, I am writing this essay as today, (July 11, 2004), has been declared "Protect Marriage Sunday." I am happy to report that my Pastor preached a very Biblically correct sermon this LORD's Day as he read these passages of Scripture: Genesis 1: 24-31; 2: 7,18 - 25 and Romans 1: 18-32, and then expounded upon their
