God Hears Grandma's Prayers

By Angela Wittman "Bring that baby back. If you're scared to bring her back, put her somewhere where you know she'll be safe," said Mary Foiles. She added, "They're going to catch him. I pray to God and God answers my prayers. They're going to catch him, maybe not right away but they will catch him. And I just wonder if that man knows he's going to burn in hell." (Source: Girl's Grandmother: Kidnapper Will "Burn in Hell" Hundreds Gather, Praying For Alisa Maier's Safe Return , KTVI Fox 2 News, St. Louis, Mo. ) The words spoken above by a praying grandmother of an abducted child in Louisiana, Missouri says it all. God does hear the prayers of Bible-believing Grandmas and this story of the abduction of a four-year-old little girl in a small town in Missouri is proof. According to news reports, the little girl was abducted from her front yard on Monday (July 5th, 2010) evening while playing with her six-year-old brother. She was t

Are Christians Disposable People?

By Angela Wittman And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. - Rev. 19:16 I recently listened to a report on the persecution of Christians in Afghanistan . And while America supports the present government with money and troops, I believe we are complicit in this destruction of human life. Which leaves me to wonder if the world (America included) sees Christians as disposable people? The lack of media attention for Christian persecution really speaks volumes as to the apathetic condition in our so called "Christian" nation. But of course, we are quite adept at turning a blind eye to the slaughter of people. After all, we take pride in our freedom to kill preborn babies while spending billions of tax dollars annually to support unconscionable government grants and programs Planned Parenthood profits from . Which leaves me to wonder just how long before the American government begins to openly persecute its Christians? After al

His Creation Order

By Angela Wittman Wives 'to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.' The recent endor sement of South Carolina GOP Gubernatorial candidate Nikki Haley by Sarah Palin and her good showing in the primary has many attributing her popularity to Mrs. Palin's endorsement and continued involvement in her campaign . But at what cost to the family of Nikki Haley and those women who try to follow in her political footsteps? Politico reporter Kasie Hunt wrote this about Sarah Palin and her influence in conservative GOP races in the article Sister Sledgehammer: Sarah Palin takes aim at Dem women : "Palin is emerging not only as a standard-bearer for social conservatives but as a campaign trail Annie Oakley, a pioneering female pol who not only intends to flex her muscle to carry conservative women to office but also to shove more than a few Democratic women out of the way. “ 'No one before

For You Alone

By Angela Wittman At work with the Lord In mean and small Or great and tall Tasks, duties, offerings Of love to You. O LORD, how I long To be completely free Of ingrained sin Within heart And mind. Surrounded with love, Smoothing the edge Of hard lines Etched within, Seen without. Heart made new, Set free by You. Fashioned to be A creature anew For You alone.

Man’s Wisdom: Found In Keeping God’s Law

By Angela Wittman “Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the LORD my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it. Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people. For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the LORD our God is in all things that we call upon him for? And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day? Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons' sons;” ( Deut. 4: 5-9, KJV ) As a Christian pro-life activist who supports “personhood” for the preborn , I have been following the Right to

Tinkering with the Gospel

By Angela Wittman “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.” - Galatians 1:6-9 KJV “...If someone had told me 20 years ago that some 'evangelicals' would soon be teaching that God does not know everything (Open Theism), that Scripture is not infallible (we must not deny Scripture's humanness!), and that our justification before God rests, in some measure on our good works (the so-called New Perspective on Paul), I would hardly have believed it. But we live in spiritually and theologically confused times. It would only be too easy, for the sake of a

Loving the Least of Your Neighbors

By Angela Wittman 44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; 45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? 47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? 48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. – Matthew 5: 44-48 Many folks are coming to the realization that the least protected people in America are the weakest and most defenseless – the preborn. As a result of this realization, we are seeing an increase in efforts to establish protection for preborn people in legislative efforts such as the Personhood state constitutional amendment movement and support for

Scott Brown’s Election to US Senate: A Hollow Victory for the Preborn.

By Angela Wittman Many “pro-life” leaders are applauding the victory of Scott Brown (Republican) to the United States Senate in a special election held this past week in Massachusetts. In all honesty, his victory is at best, a hollow one for the preborn. Let’s take an objective, non-partisan look at Scott Brown’s record and rhetoric on prenatal child-killing as recorded at the website “ OnTheIssues.org ”: Scott Brown on Abortion * 2005: Conscience-based opt out of post-rape contraception. (Jan 2010) * Provide info about emergency contraception to rape victims. (Jan 2010) * Support legalized abortion, but not partial-birth abortion. (Jan 2010) * Supported by right-to-life groups for stem cell stance. (Jan 2010) * Authored bill for 24-hour waiting period for abortion. (Jan 2010) * Abortions should always be legally available. (Nov 2002) Provide info about emergency contraception to rape victims Brown voted for a 2005 amendment to deny emergency contraception to rape victims, but Coakley&

Fleeing ‘Sodom’ and ‘Gomorrah’

Then the Lord rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven; And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground. But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt. (Genesis 19: 24-26 KJV) A friend recently wrote on his blog about a lack of discretion and immodesty of some Christian women on Facebook , the “social” networking website. It seems some women were posting the colors of their undergarments on their Facebook status as some sort of way to raise awareness of breast cancer. This friend rightly questioned the judgment of such indiscreet behavior and tried to reason Biblically with the Christian and church-going women involved: “Yes I am writing a blog entry in regards to women’s undergarments. WHY? You ask… Well yesterday I noticed a lot of the ladies I know posting colors on their facebook status. Apparently this was a stunt organized by a cancer

Casting Crowns before the Lord

The four and twenty Elders fell down before him that sat on the throne, and worshipped him that liveth for evermore, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory, and honor, and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy will’s sake they are, and have been created. Rev. 4: 10, 11 (1599 Geneva Bible) Dear Friends, This Scripture from the Book of Revelation weighs heavy upon my heart as I observe the modern Church in America. The Geneva Bible study note for verse 10 explains: Three signs of honor given unto God, prostration or falling down, adoration and casting their crowns before God, in which the godly, though made kings by Christ, do willingly empty themselves of all glory, moved with a religious respect for the majesty of God. Are you moved with a religious respect for the majesty of God? Or truly committed to laying down your life for Christ and willing to “cast” your “crown” before Him? I ask because I see little dying to sel

A 'higher calling'

Sarah Palin, the governor of Alaska, recently announced her intention to resign from office, and offered this explanation in her resignation speech: "In fact, this decision comes after much consideration and finally polling the most important people in my life - my children (where the count was unanimous... well, in response to asking: 'Want me to make a positive difference and fight for ALL our children's future from outside the Governor's office?' It was four 'yes's' and one 'hell yeah!' The 'hell yeah' sealed it - and someday I'll talk about the details of that... I think much of it had to do with the kids seeing their baby brother Trig mocked by some pretty mean-spirited adults recently.) Um, by the way, sure wish folks could ever, ever understand that we all could learn so much from someone like Trig - I know he needs me, but I need him even more... what a child can offer to set priorities right – that time is precious... the wo
